The heart is a wonderful thing. It goes boom-boom, pitter-patter, thump, thump, thump. It lets you leap even when you are so very, very afraid because it is a brave and wild thing, your heart. It remembers all of the crazy dreams you dreamt as that audacious kid you once were and still are deep down inside.

And it is good, because it is redeemed by the very precious blood of Jesus himself, the One who loves us.

It’s true. It’s in the daring and the trying that the winning is done. When we dare, when we dream, when we try and yes, even when we fail, we enter into the arena of our courageous hearts, wiping the tears away as we learn to be brave.

Researcher and writer Brene Brown has written a whole book on the subject (Daring Greatly) and in it she says:

“After doing this work or the past twelve years and watching scarcity ride roughshod over our families, organizations, and communities, I'd say the one thing we have in common is that we're sick of feeling afraid. we want to dare greatly…We all want to be brave.”

Are you afraid, dear one? So am I. It will be alright. Let’s dare anyway, together shall we, and see what we can see? :) We’ll be okay—more than okay—just you wait!

What if we let our one true sentence be what we make of our lives--if we let each day be a letter of a word, and let the years turn into words, and those words—at the end of our story—become our "one true sentence"? 

What would our lives say?

What if we live out our lives in such a way that we can say with a flourish of an exclamation point, "I lived the truest sentence I knew how!"

What would that look like for you?

Anyhooo, beginning February 1, 2013, I’ll be posting a new hand lettered, hand rendered piece of word art each and every day for 30 consecutive days—at least, that’s the goal! At the end of those 30 days, prints of each inspirational word art will be for sale in my Etsy shop! Wooohooo! :)
